Al Balooshi fuels another Bahrain1 success in drag racing season’s penultimate round at BIC
Khaled Al Balooshi yet again claimed a superb victory for Bahrain1 Racing in the fourth and penultimate round of the 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship, held last week at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
Al Balooshi triumphed in the Pro Mod class and was the star of the meeting at ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’.
The event was held along BIC’s world-class quarter-mile drag strip, which is a member of the Worldwide Network under the U.S.-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA).
The Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is the region’s leading drag racing series and it is sanctioned by the NHRA, with each season’s champions being honoured with a prestigious Wally trophy of NHRA fame.
It is organised and run by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.
Al Balooshi triumphed in the Pro Mod category following an all-Bahrain1 showdown in the final elimination. He was up against teammate Khalil Alansari and won with a time of 4.054 seconds at 230.45kph. Alansari posted a 5.854s mark at 115.22kph.
The round’s other winners in the cars classes included Ali Baslar, Safwan Adel, Ali Alkhamiri, Mahmood Mohammed, Sayed Hussain Salman, Mohammed Mohsin, Abdullah Alshamsi, and Obaid Al Balooshi; while the winners in the bikes classes were Ali Hejair, Fadi Abu Jamous, Ali Bahram, and Khalid Aldossary.
Ali Baslar triumphed in the 10.0 Index class after clocking a pass of 9.985s at 211.08kph to beat Sadiq Alhuzum’s 9.979s at 209.63kph. Khaled Abdullah finished third.
Safwan Adel took the 9.0 Index category with a winning mark of 17.881s at 131.83kph. He beat Mohammed Ehdayah who had a 19.092s time at 111.39kph in his run, while Hussain Alasfoor was third.
Ali Alkhamiri took first place in the 8.5 Index class, posting a time of 8.521s at 248.90kph to beat Fawaz Alawadhi’s 8.544s at 262.85kph. Abdulrahman Abdulla joined them on the podium.
Mahmood Mohammed emerged victorious in the Outlaw 4-Cylinder category after posting a winning mark of 13.065s at 127.71kph in the final. He defeated Ahmed Abdulrahman, who had a time of 20.780s at 137.79kph, while Ali Mahfood took third place.
Sayed Hussain Salman was the winner in the 7.5 Index class where he had a 7.636s pass at 292.04kph in the final. Salman narrowly beat Fahad Khadada’s 7.768s at 279.16kph, while Yousif Alkhamiri came third.
Mohammed Mohsin claimed the Outlaw 6-Cylinder win after running a 5.227s pass at 225.14kph in the final, where he overcame Mohammed Hussain, who had marks of 5.102s at 235.45kph. Yousef Alabdulhadi joined them on the podium.
Abdullah Alshamsi was triumphant in the Pro 29.5 V8 division, beating Ali Abdulrahman in the final with his 4.643s pass at 211.20kph. Abdulrahman registered a mark of 5.353s at 211.18kph, with Nayef Janahi finishing in third place.
Obaid Al Balooshi joined the winners’ list after topping the Competition 4.5 class, clocking a mark of 4.968s at 227.16kph in his final. He beat Abdulrahman Boalwa, who posted a pass of 4.452s at 236.50kph. Mohammed Al Faras was third.
Meanwhile, in the bikes categories, Ali Hejair took first place amongst the Street Fight Bikes 9.5 competitors with a final run of 10.462s at 201.75kph. He beat Fadi Abu Jamous’s 14.852s at 133.72kph. Musab Alismail came third.
Abu Jamous took the win in the 8.5 Index Bikes class after clocking a winning time of 8.505s at 231.31kph in the final. Jihad Aljamal had to settle for the runner-up spot with an 8.407s run at 263.42kph, while Abdullah Alkhaldi was also on the podium.
Ali Bahram was the victor in the Pro Street Bikes category. He had a 5.184s run in the final at 221.27kph, beating Hamad Ahmed, who went for a 5.348s time at 228.74kph. Hattan Al Abbadi followed in third.
Khalid Aldossary was then the top man in the Outlaw Bikes class, taking his win in 4.658s at 242.65. He defeated Khalifa Fouad in the final, with Fouad clocking a 5.391s run at 212.24kph. Mohammed Albanki joined them on the podium.
Following all the action, the winners were presented their trophies in the podium ceremonies.
The 2024/2025 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is now headed for its season-finale, scheduled to take place 11 to 14 March.
